We are a hot spring hotel (onsen-ryokan), where you can enjoy Japanese-style hospitality.
Japan is picked out from a peculiar plant, "Aizome"
A dye as "indigo blue(Ai)" is generally picked out from several kinds of plant, but Japanese indigo blue is made with the "smartweed" by which Japan is a peculiar plant (fomentation).
The product which did the indigo dyeing (Ai-zome) is so famous to take out the pleasant shade and texture that it's used for a long time.
It's being sold in a shop at our ryokan.
Irregularly, an experience program of the indigo dyeing (Ai-zome) is being conducted.
Of course, "Ai" of Ai - zome (indigo dyeing) is origin in "Ai" with the name of our "Tateshina Ai".

The Japanese people have loved hot spring bathing for a long time.
Because Japan has many volcanoes, there are many hot springs.
Hot spring bathing makes a body relax and you heal a heart.
The Japanese hot spring takes a bath nakedly.
Public Bath
Public Bath
Our ryokan is equipped with gender-segregated public indoor bath and open air hot spring bath.
When going to a public bath , please take a bath towel and a small towel (which a body is washed) in the guest room.
Please become stark-naked and enter a public bath only with a small towel.
One washes the body with soap and then rinses oneself thoroughly before entering the bathtub.
Please do not soak your towel in the bathtub.
Dry yourself with a towel before going into the dressing room.
Our public bath switches between male and female use.
Public Open-Air Bath
There is the open air bath in the point of the public bath with the washing space, too.
You can enjoy the landscape, and feel a wind, while taking a bath.

Please do not wash your body in the bathtub.
Please do not pull out the bath plug.
Wonderful of the Japanese construction is the feeling of liberation with which a room and the outdoors are tied. In a garden, the sky is there right now. I talk with a moon and a star and... and an evening are deepening.

We'll serve Japanese green tea to a customer as a welcome drink after your arrival.

Tatami mat
A tatami is a mat used to cover the floor in a Japanese room.
It’s made of bundled straw and covered with tightly woven rushes called igusa.
Japanese sits down and lies directly on the tatami , which took off its shoes here.
Restroom with a shower
The Japanese have been using Shower toilets for over 30 years.
These toilets allow you to wash yourself with water of a comfortable temperature, and to dry yourself with breezy air.
These toilets are also equipped with a heated seat and a bidet.
Futon
At night, you sleep in a futon on the tatami floor except for a certain guest room.
The staff will spread out the futon on the tatami floor, while you’re having dinner at the public eating area.
Yukata
You will find a yukata in the guest room.
Yukata is a kimono-style sleepwear.
You can also wear this to the public bath or to the public eating area.

"Yama-mi-Ryori"… the Seasonal Bounty of the Land
A dish of our ryokan is being called "yama-mi-ryori".
It's a course menu of Japanese food with the local ingredients in season selected carefully.
Healthy Shinshu breakfast
In addition to rice , "real porridge of buckwheat " healthy also are available .
The miso soup which a lot of vegetables having just finished being produced entered is the source of spirit.
Drink
Sake
Sake is a Japanese rice wine.
It has been enjoyed in Japan for a long time.
You can drink it hot or cold.
Its alcohol content is about 15%.
You can also drink a sake cocktail of our ryokan original.
Shochu
Shochu is a Japanese vodka made from rice, barley, rye or sweet potato.
Sake is fermented, but shochu is distilled.
You can drink rice and sweet potato shochu at our ryokan.
Shochu has an alcohol content of about 25 to 45%.
It is normally mixed with hot or cold water.

From the mountaintop, I can survey the Japan's three biggest Alps.
